The Feltre-Belluno valley – “Valbelluna” in Italian (FEBEL here, for our initiative) – is part of the province of Belluno, one of the seven provinces of Veneto, the largest of these. The territory of the Province is almost all included in the Piave river basin. The river reaches the Adriatic Sea near Venice and has been the steadiest and oldest link in the Belluno area with the Republic of Venice. The river waters were in fact used to transport the magnificent trunks of beeches, firs and larches that populated – and still populate – the Dolomites, to the Arsenal of Venice, the splendid mountains that make the province of Belluno an alpine area of great environmental and cultural value. La valle di Feltre-Belluno – “Valbelluna” in italiano, (FEBEL per la nostra iniziativa) – fa parte della provincia di Belluno, una delle sette province del Veneto, la più grande tra queste. Il territorio della Provincia è quasi tutto compreso nel bacino idrico del fiume Piave. Il fiume raggiunge il mare Adriatico vicino a Venezia ed è stato il collegamento più saldo e più antico del territorio bellunese con la Repubblica di Venezia. Le acque fluviali furono infatti utilizzate per trasportare nell’Arsenale di Venezia i magnifici tronchi di faggi, abeti e larici che popolavano – e tuttora popolano – le Dolomiti, le splendide montagne che fanno della provincia di Belluno un’area alpina di grandissimo valore ambientale e culturale.   DOWNLOAD FEBEL 2030
